Sophia Miranda is an outstanding tech. Her attentive, caring manner made my stay much easier. While all of the nurses and tech did great jobs, Sophia’s care was above all. She left no detail unattended to while always having a very pleasant smile.
The staff on the 3rd floor needs to be dealt with. If they dont want to help the patients then they need to stay home! Husband calls them for help to the bathroom and they get there 30 to 45 min later. Seems like they don't care about the patients needs! My husband still needs help getting out of bed and needs help going to releive himself. One person named James told him that he was a lucky patient because no one there was gonna help him like he did! No one on this floor wants to tend to you. This hospital cannot handle anything that has to do with logistics and the staffing issues are causing hardship on the patients. From the first night my father arrived there were already issues. He was transferred from HCA Clear Lake and we were told what his nurse's name would be and that they had been sent his chart so they would know how to take care of him. I thought this place was decent. Everything seemed fine until about midway through week three and I started getting lied to. What they should have told me was that his insurance wanted him dumped so they were dumping him. What I started hearing instead was that he had 'hit a plateau' on his treatment. That he could stand up and walk 40 feet with a walker. That it was time to transfer to home care and physical therapy. When we got him home I realized none of this was true.
