This was one of the most dehumanizing medical experiences I have ever had. Despite being in severe pain, I was not heard, and my symptoms were repeatedly dismissed. I spent hours at the hospital without receiving appropriate care. I arrived with excruciating back pain, yet the doctor quickly told me it was “muscle pain” without performing a proper examination. I got to the ER Saturday night with a severe gastric bleed. They got me into the back and quickly stabilized me. The Nurse and Doctor explained everything and got me into a room quickly.
