We had an inground pool installed in August 2021. Had the top of the line Hayward OmniLogic PL software installed along with a Hayward heat pump, Tristar VS 950 pump, and Hayward cartridge filter system. Just 2 weeks ago, the system stopped running and we find out now that the motherboard is bad (8 months past the warranty) and the replacement cost is $1,799 + tax and installation. HORRIBLE customer experience and equipment keeps malfunctioning and losing connection. They will only email and finally sent a representative who did not correct the fact that the lights do NOT sync nor does their app work. Avoid at all costs and go with another pool equipment provider. You will totally regret it!
Had a pool built in 2018, and the builder used all Hayward products. Most have worked well all this time. The color logic 320 lights though, are horrible. I've had the pool open half of the season in 2018, and then 5 years since (19-23). I have had to replace 7 colorlogic 320 lights. They cost roughly $500 a pop. Last June I called Hayward and discussed this. They sent me a light for free. It died this week. It's less than a year old. Their response today? Sorry, that was a one time courtesy. Heater caught fire from inside of the unit and only 4 years old. Of course they won’t cover the repair. I have heard this is a common problem. I just opened a pro se lawsuit filled as product liability claim. Very easy to file for suits under 25k. Just go to your local courthouse and file for under $100 and takes 5 mins.
