We purchased a pool heater from Hayward at the end of summer, so it was used maybe 3-4 times. When we opened our pool the next summer, it was broken. I contacted Hayward for assistance. The representative was completely dismissive and would not honor the warranty. Now, I have a useless 4000$ pool heater.
So far not impressed. We converted our pool to salt 2 years ago. Open this year to find the generator would not power on. Call a pool service and Come to find out the motherboard is bad . Ok cool it’s under warranty . File a claim on our behalf so we can get replacement. Guess what. No replacement and we are going on 3 weeks . I understand that this is a busy time of year and EVERYONE is opening their pools. But why would you not account for possible failures and ensure you have replacements? We had an inground pool installed in August 2021. Had the top of the line Hayward OmniLogic PL software installed along with a Hayward heat pump, Tristar VS 950 pump, and Hayward cartridge filter system. Just 2 weeks ago, the system stopped running and we find out now that the motherboard is bad (8 months past the warranty) and the replacement cost is $1,799 + tax and installation.
