Horrible We went to Hayloft because we read about the petting zoo on the Lancaster, PA tourism website. What we saw when we arrived left me with a stomach ache. Those poor animals are locked in the smallest cages. A goat stuffed in a space the size of a dog crate. A donkey pacing back and forth in a tiny pen. No grass, hardly any water, and dirty,sad looking animals. We got right back in the car and left. These animals need grassy areas they can roam, mental stimulation, and appropriate care. wish they would take better care It's a fun place and i've been going there since I was a small child. I only wish they would take better care of the animals, often times i'll go and the goats will have funky eyes and mange, and the animals look like they are never brushed or bathed.
good shopping (and animals!) Hayloft Candles is an unexpected surpise on a quaint country road in Lancaster County. Inside the store, you can find just about any kind of candle or candle holder you can imagine. The smells are just wonderful! Little touches make this store a fun destination- even for kids. There is a water wheel inside the door where you can toss in a coin and make a wish. They also serve amazing ice cream! A Hidden Treasure We came across Hayloft Candles one day while travelling the back roads in Intercourse, PA. This is a quaint gift shop with a small petting zoo for the kids. The store has homemade ice cream which is out of this world and very reasonablly priced. Across the street is an Amish Farm that has a roadside stand.
Hand-dipped Candles! Hayloft Candles is one of my favorite places to shop when in Amish Country! The selection of candles they have is amazing! They have just about every color and scent you cn imagine and all are made right there in the shop! You can even watch candles being dipped, poured and made right there! excellent store you name it, they have it! I love going shopping here. They have all the scents you can think of in candles. I can buy any type of candle that I wnat here. The only bad side is that they are closed for a few months. Makes me want them more though when they open :)
