We attended the Witch in the Woods haunted auto tour this past weekend. We had a van full of kids, ranging in ages and it was perfect. not "too scary" for the little ones, but creepy enough. The staff was so friendly and we just had a nice family night out. It was a lot of fun! And a great experience. Thank you for taking the time to do this, as it was a great way to experience the Arboretum.
We absolutely loved our daughters birthday party there.
I absolutely love going to Hayes. Ive been going since I was younger and still remember many of the original exhibits like the trains, the theater area, the original gift shop, the kids area and so much more. We had our wedding there and even though there was a egregious erroron the booking and the weather was stormy i wouldn't have changed venues for anything I now enjoy taking my kids there and watching them enjoy the nature center and hiking on the trails. I take as many people there as i can as often as i can.
35 years ago I started taking my children to the arboretum for summer classes. My oldest son, Jim, did his eagle scout project at the arboretum. He restored the fern garden. Three years ago I took my 2 grandchildren for summer classes. Now their father, Jonathan, is helping with bike trails. He and his family enjoy their time walking and riding the trails. The arboretum is truly a treasure that the Richmond community should be very proud of. Thank you Hayes Family!
