We have been waiting patiently for over THREE years for the construction of our building. Yes, you read it right. It has been over three years since we gave this company the downpayment of about 90% of the cost of the building on March 1, 2016 and still today there’s no building in sight!! That is $14,000 that we gave this company upfront for a 30’x24’ steel building. The concrete floor of the building was finally poured (against their will by their subcontractor Norberto) on December 17, 2018 and as of today June 26, 2019 w... read more
I have had my building for 6 years. The building quality is good and I am well pleased with it overall. However like many reviews, the communications and the customer service could be much improved. You need to be prepared to ask questions. Options, etc were not well explained to me. If here is an issue it will normally be YOUR fault, no ownership on their part. I probably would not buy from hem again. I looked at what my neighbor had installled and the price he paid - There are other options/builders that néed to be conside... read more
Building turned out fine but communication was severely lacking. Issues arose that could have been resolved pre-contract or even pre-build were never addressed, thus causing frustration and extra cost. Sales people seemed complacent at best, even with having an unhappy customer. Having never built a building like this we relied on Hawthorne to guide us, so my advice would be if you know the ins/outs of steel buildings and can handle minimal communication and feel you know all the "right questions" to ask, you might be happy ... read more
Business response:
Living in a Home Owners Association controlled sub-division requires that the home owner is aware of what their requirements are to build there. The *** has a new rule about NOT having a white color roll up door. Customer ordered a white roll up door then was upset because the *** told them to replace it. We do not file the *** permits the home owner is responsible for that. We signed as the builder on their permit and there was nothing in the permit that required colored roll up doors. We regret that the customer did not kn... read more
Setting up garage building 30 x 50 x 12. So far everything is going as I've been informed it will. Meeting expectations up to this point. Waiting for concrete pad to be poured. I'll keep this updated on progress. Today is June 1, 2018.
Very disappointed with the customer service. Their people skills are sorely lacking. We had visited with several builders in the area before settling on Hawthorne. If we had it to do again, we would have selected a different builder. How a business treats clients is of great significance to us.
I worked here many years ago.... good quality buildings that went up fast. Good steady work throughout the east texas. Great company ran by Bob, Paul and Gene
