Best Funeral Home in Panola County Being a native of Panola County, I would highly recommend Hawthorne Funeral home above ANY other funeral home in Carthage or the surrounding areas. Owners Carlton and Karen Shamburger, along with their staff, do an excellent job, from start to finish. I've buried my Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, cousin, and numerous friends in the past ten years and must say that Carlton did an excellent job making all of them look beautiful, even when it wasn't so easy. During a hard time, they care... Living in a small town, there are only a few funeral homes to choose from, and really, all of them are pretty good choices. Hawthorn Funeral Home is a good choice. I have been to lots of funerals there. The staff has always been friendly and caring. The building is a really nice old building and it's always been clean every time I've been there. We had my grandmother's funeral there several years ago and the service was beautiful. I would recommend Hawthorne Funeral Home as a good choice.
