This retreat is everything you could ask for and more. We spent the past weekend reveling in the peacefulness of the beautiful property, surrounded by birds, flowers, and other nature. The hospitality and friendliness of the hosts is second to none. We are still talking about the fabulous breakfasts we had each day!! It's close to Galena and Elizabeth, but yet far enough away to be secluded. We will be back, sooner rather than later! We cannot recommend this place enough!!

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at Hawk Valley this past weekend. John & Jim were amazing hosts! From the moment we arrived we felt immediately pampered and at ease. The property is quite remarkable, off the beaten path but only 15 minutes from downtown Galena. We loved all the wild life (100s of birds thanks in part to the array of birdfeeders around the main house) as well as their farm critters! The French geese were a hoot (sorry, I couldn't resist). This was such a truly great experience. It wasn't just well-kept, John and Jim really went above and beyond with their hospitality. The environment was wonderfully cozy and relaxing. The amenities were perfect. The breakfast was incredible. Everything about it was fantastic.
