I have been a credit union member for 37 + years. Fortunately not at Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union in Kona. Any time I had to do an ATM withdrawal I coose to use a credit union which never charged a "convenience fee" Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union in Kona charged me a $3.00 fee. I went inside to ask if they could break a $5.00 in quarters for me to use at my hotel Laundromat and they refused because I had to be a member of THEIR union in order to process the transaction.
