Our daughter had been in 3 residential treatment programs over the course of 3 years, she became progressively more combative and prone to self harm. Please do your research before you send your child to Havenwood or any program for that matter. I spent 16 months at Havenwood. Throughout those 16 months, the punishments I experienced were extremely abusive. Havenwood used to have a punishment called shut down where they would isolate you for two days, but that was usually just an estimate they would add days for minor infractions. My daughter went to the Utah facility from 6/2014-6/2015. At the time, I believed it to be an amazing program and thought my daughter’s post unresolved issues were a result of her narcissistic father. In lieu of recent events, I am understanding there was possibly a lot more going on than I understood and had I known, I do not believe I would have allowed my daughter to have stayed. DO NOT SEND UR CHILD HERE PLEASE! I went to havenwood from feb 2022-feb 2023. I am still to this day dealing with the trauma that i gained from this place. I did not receive help except from my therapist who no longer works there for a good reason. THEY ABUSE YOUR CHILDREN!!! I was placed in many of “holds” thats left me with bruises and would constantly throw me into horrible panic attacks because i have trauma which I'm there for.
