RecommendedI highly recommend Dr Haugland, Dr Christilles and his entire team! I have a show horse and several trail horses and they treat each one as the family members they are. They answer my questions (even when I ask ALOT) and explain exactly what the issue is and my best options for treatment. They follow up with calls and texts the next day to be sure treatment is working. When necessary they partner with my farrier to work as a team to help the horses. I do NOT recommend - particularly for barefoot folks or natural horsemen. Both Dr Haugland and Dr Sophie showed up to see my mare who foundered two months ago. He commented right away on how well my horse was moving as she was coming in from the far pasture. Then, before even examining her or X-rays, he recommended shoes. I asked him about any other methods he recommended and he said there are none “if I have a broken bone, you cast it.” Hooves are not broken bones and that analogy does not stand. I am sorry you were not open to considering any of my recommendations of treatment options for your horse. It was quite obvious at the onset of our visit you were not interested in any of the suggestions that I offered. I have treated laminitis or founder for 35 years and have had many successful outcomes. Judging the expertise of a professional, such as myself, in one visit is short sighted and irresponsible. I have known Dr. Haugland for most of my life and I have never considered any other veterinarians to take care of my horses. His assistant Vicky is extremely experienced and I trust that they know exactly what they are doing whenever they are working on my animals. Now that I am going to vet school myself, I feel extremely lucky that I had such wonderful mentors over the years. Dr. Haugland will always be a role model for my future career.

Mark has been are vet for over 20 years and I have never doubted he's expertise He has always amazed me in his knowledge in problems and the right way to fix them when others couldn't. Mark has been our vet for many years and we could not recommend him more highly. Vickey and Jean are an amazing back up team always there to answer questions. We would never consider using anyone else.
Dr. Haugland is the best vet I have ever known and that is in all areas....my horses have made sure to cover all their bases!! Surgery, sutures, lameness, broken bones - he has expertly healed them each time. His vet tech Vickey is excellent at assisting him and handling all types of horses. Jean Haugland is a wealth of knowledge for all types of ailments and issues. I feel privileged and at ease having my horses in their care.
