A tenant and I did a lease agreement with an option to purchase contract through him. At first, he explained everything well and was quite polite. All the documents were reviewed and signed properly. There was one final document that was needed (a Charge to be placed on the land title for the option to purchase). He explained that he needed it signed in front of a witness so that my identity is verified and that a notary was sufficient for such document.
