I felt compelled to leave a review following our experience with the omakase Tour menu. While the concept is interesting, several aspects of the evening fell short of expectations, especially given the price point. First, the pricing is misleading and confusing. A pop-up when you first open their website advertises the experience starting at $89 per person. The sushi tasting menu at Haru Omakase was lovely. Great cocktails, creative and varied flavors and very fresh seafood. The tasting included some familiar seafood and also several different varieties of fish I’ve never tried before. All were delicious and fresh. I was a really big fan of Kihachi, which closed years ago, and I’m happy to have another upscale Japanese restaurant in Columbus that is comparable in quality. A very unique and special dining experience. However two of the 9 pieces of sushi I was given were extremely stringy and chewy. I spent over two minutes chewing them. Wanted to spit them out, but didn't want to offend the chef. He repeatedly toughted how special and top of the line their sushi is. Surprised he could not tell while preparing it that the pieces of fish were substandard. Looking back I should have immediately let the chef know.
Took my wife here for her bday. We’ve traveled all over and are avid sushi lovers. I would put this up there with Morimoto(our favorite) for quality and service and it is by far the best sushi restaurant in all of Columbus and the area. Can’t recommend enough and we’ll be frequent flyers for sure.
The best meal I have ever had. From the moment you enter the unsuspecting spot located in a strip, you are welcomed and transported into a warm, high-end experience. The setting is cozy and low-key.
