I was provided a simple Women’s Exam that is fully covered by my insurance and the claim was denied because it was submitted on a higher/incorrect age group and not my age group. Hartford advocacy team asked me to reach out to my insurance for the cpt to provide to the doctors office in which my insurance provided a list and stated there a MULTIPLE CPT to have them change it to for my correct age group to have a simple exam covered as routine exam. I was seeing a different physician and office for 7+ years and my doctor changed practices so I was nudged to use this office and doctor. They pushed to have 2 new patient appointments done in which I was told both were covered under a regular yearly appointment and now I’m being told I have to pay a large bill for something that was done without me knowing because they didn’t check the age group requirement and the office is denying assistance in writing a letter to provide what as done at the appointment. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I spent my entire morning jumping through hoops after being told I could get an appointment today. I was sent to the Hartford "establish health" line and waited over an hour for a nurse to call back—who never did. When I finally reached the Plainfield office again, they claimed they were booked until July. This office is clearly disorganized and disrespectful of people’s time. With a 2.2-star rating, it’s clear I’m not the only one dealing with these issues.
