5 stars because I needed replacement parts for a tap from the 1950's . The chap running the parts department, an older gentleman like myself, knew the inner workings of the tap because he'd been in the business for 40 years. He explained it was obsolete, but showed me where I should be able to obtain parts online. When so many older chaps are being forced into retirement, it good to see someone has recognised valuable experience equally customer satisfaction.
After going around a lot of bathroom shops, someone directed me to Harry Bates. David at Harry Bates patiently spent 2 hours talking through my plans and design, and suggested products for my bathroom. He has so much knowledge, and really listens to what you want, whilst providing useful suggestions for good value, quality products with no sales pressure. He’s the perfect salesman in my book. Have bought from this firm several times over many years. Always good service by well informed staff. I needed a replacement for part of a cabinet I bought eight years ago. David was very helpful and able to identify the supplier. I took delivery and installed it within a week of my enquiry. Recommended.
The showroom is good and the experience designing the bathroom and the different options was almost thorough and well managed. However, once ordered, items took longer to arrive then originally suggested. Even after getting an email confirming everything was in stock, the day before the delivery was due we were told one item wasn't there... It then magically appeared on a delivery that evening.
