I met David Harounian when I was buying carpets for a prince staying at the Waldorf 30 years ago. He essentially threw me out not believing why I was there. When we spent 1.4m on the carpets and were forced to return one as it didn't fit on the plane, we became friends. I returned recently after my cancer passed and they are still going strong in a diminished field of high-quality merchants remaining in the City.
