My husband had a skiing accident while on vacation and needed a medical visit (broken ribs, etc.) we have out of state emergency coverage but because of how it was coded by Rutland, they denied the visit. Long story short, we've been trying to get this straightened out since 1/31/26 with many hours wasted, voicemails left with no return call and threats to go to collections although our insurance and us ourselves have told them we're trying to straighten this out and to please hold the bills. Bad service, insurance didn't cover medicine I got, and didn't get medicine for diarrhea despite doctors and staff clearly knowing and writing down that I been having it several times throughout my stay. Poor experience and I couldn't stay the night and forced to leave at 12am.
The staff is very caring and when it’s busy they always do their best. Thanks for all your hard work.
While this hospital is much better than one would normally expect from a private hospital in a small town, I still do not completely trust it. I come here only when I absolutely need to, usually for lab draws—and I just don’t know. The last time I did a TSH cascade done, it showed my level as 9.54. I just did not think that was right so had DHMC run the test again and it was 3.15. Also, they do not use Epic so when they send your results to most top tier institutions which always use Epic, you get a number out of context—no ... read more
