Being in a hospital can be a very scary experience. The staff and doctors seem to assert a higher degree of attention taking care of my family's health at HMC. They communicate well with patients and families of course, but they clearly take a team approach because they communicate so well with EACH OTHER, between personnel and between departments. Larger facilities like Cleveland Clinic fail to achieve this actual TEAM approach to healthcare. Given their excellent results, I'd take HMC over even the Cleveland Clinic for my... read more

The nursing staff were always professional and caring! Support staff the heart of a organization cna,dietary, house keeping, technology all very good. Great meals! Only the leaving information was lacking in preparation for, what happens next.

Harlingen Medical Center is a good hospital but they have so many issues. First of all, for a hospital not to be completely handicap accessible is crazy. They have grab bars and some of the equipment a hospital should have but no handicap toliets, lifts for patients who have trouble standing, toliet risers to make them taller, and bathing equipment for people who can't walk. They don't have many shower chairs and the plumbing in the whole hospital causes flooding when taking a shower for longer than ten minutes. I was there... read more

I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who is in need of emergency services. ER was very responsive from the moment I walked in. The ER nurse Ashlee was very helpful and was able to calm me in my time of need. Once admitted Becky gave me assurance that I was in good hands and I cannot thank her enough. She treated me like family and I have never been more pleased as a patient. Both CNA’s Chrissy and Alex were very helpful as well. I had the best inpatient experience while at Harlingen Medical Center. Every nurse,technician, aide, and even the the environmental support were friendly and courteous. My nurse, Rosie Espinosa, went above and beyond to ensure that I had my wound care done, scripts were ready, and discharge was done timely. I would recommend HMC to my family and friends, time and again. Thank you for taking care of me!
