Harcourts was founded by Mr George Harcourt of England in 1842 and has been located in Toronto since that time. Historically, we have been the primary supplier to the legal profession in Ontario, and have provided specialty gowns to academic institutions across Canada. More recently, we have expanded to service high schools, colleges and universities with rental and souvenir gowns and hoods for convocation ceremonies.

I had a very disappointing experience with the rental service here. While they responded quickly when I wanted to rent a robe and were quick to take my money, they stopped replying after I informed them I couldn't attend my bar ceremony due to a flight issue. A Toxic place nevertheless, don't let the facade fool you - they cherry pick who to serve/whom to avoid. Meanwhile some might understand thinking they are newbies, others can certainly see right through them. Everyone seems so fake to each other. Andrew is exceptionally friendly and charming, with a professional demeanor that stands out. His assistance today was invaluable; he remained calm and collected, helping me secure my graduation robe at the last minute. I also want to acknowledge Raquel for her excellent support. The team of tailors at this location is truly fantastic. Thank you once again! I wish you all the best!
What has happened to Hartcourts? My husband had a fitting for his judicial robes and when he received his order we found that one pant leg was not hemmed, there was a pin left in the lining of his waistcoat which drew blood when he was putting it on and the hem of his robe became unravelled within a few weeks. Quality control has really gone downhill. Totally unacceptable!
