Harbor Light Credit Union has never answered the phone when I call. Not one time. I either don't get the front desk person, or the person she transfers me to doesn't answer. Communication and hours at this credit union are highly abysmal, and it's incredibly difficult to gain assistance, especially as a first shift Monday-Friday worker.
RecommendedI have recently refinanced 2 auto loans & 1 RV loan with HLCU. “Why bother refinancing when you’re already set up at another financial institution,” you ask? Because HLCU was able to meet or beat those other interest rates! Bought a car to help with credit score and interest, went great for 2-2.5 years, car was totalled in May and waiting on GAP and insurance to pay off car loan and kept asking if I needed to make a payment after insurance paid their part while waiting on GAP and was told no and told to wait many times by three different people here, only to find out they hit my credit for being late, after being asked with every phone call if I needed to make a payment because I didnt want it to effect my score and told no! Used this bank twice now. After the first mess up they cost me over $700 dollars for something I had no control over and didn’t withdraw that much either. Switched to Huntington, best decision I ever made. Sent my bf over to the credit union to make a bank account, and now we have had nothing but problems for the last 3months. Every single week. Switching again.

Favorite credit union ever! Went in just a little bit ago to take out a small personal loan. Ended up refinancing my car as well, and went from paying 15% interest rate at Meijer Credit Union to 3% through HCU! Saved over $3,000! Turned my horrible morning to an amazing day! This is why I will only use Harborlight for life.
If I could give Harbor Light a 10 I would! I accidentally overpaid a cell phone bill by a significant amount and Harbor Light put the money back into my account until the refund from the phone company came through totally saving us!!! I can't speak highly enough about Tina and the wonderful staff! You have a customer for life!!!!
