I had an emergency situation and was not even aware of JFK Hospital. I was fortunate to be treated at the Neuroscience Department. I am 90 years old. They discovered that I had a brain bleed. My good fortune was Dr. Zacharatos and Dr. Milano, who operated on my brain. In a time like this, you are treated by anyone who is available. I am so lucky to have been under their care. Friendly, professional and overall a great doctor. He sees my mom for a previous aneurysm and has performed an angiogram on her as well. The doctor explains everything and shows you images to clarify. I really like that even though my mom doesn’t speak English, the doctors directs himself to her and not to me. Her previous neurologists would only speak to me and completely ignore my mother, leaving her to feel uneasy and unattended even though SHE is the patient. Dr. Zacharados doesn’t do that.
