Dr.Zacharatos is one of my favorite surgeons. This past August I had a stroke in my carotid artery. I had 4 or 5 blood clots and needed a balloon and stent placed. He explained everything to me and my family and answered every question we asked. He never rushed us once. Dr. Z, as I loving call him, literally saved my life! I had a major stroke and if it had not been for his quick actions and recognition of what was actually happening to me…and he fixed the problem, I would not be alive and moving today. This is a very skilled and caring Neurologist who saved my life at 73yo. I came by ambulance to the New Jersey Hackensack Meridian Hospital Neuroscience Institute following a stroke. Many doctors were present most of which were eager to bring down my blood pressure. I had an emergency situation and was not even aware of JFK Hospital. I was fortunate to be treated at the Neuroscience Department. I am 90 years old. They discovered that I had a brain bleed.
