I have been coming to this bakery for years. I just realized I’ve never reviewed them. I love the friendliness of the staff, the amazing treats they always have in their case and how amazing their custom cakes are. Iva had all of my children’s birthday cakes done here, my wedding cake, baby shower cakes, pies, etc just about anything! Gem on the Northside! Great backing options for all! Food is fantastic and atmosphere always friendly and welcoming. Food is holy crap delicious!
I'm specifically reviewing this for takeout. I ordered a dozen vegan GF cupcakes for my wedding last year, to supplement my main wedding cake. I found that Happy Chicks Bakery was surprisingly fast at responding to email and were realistic in communicating that we could just do a walk-in order and get a mix of flavors, but that they might be out of GF cupcakes depending on other customers. As a big supporter of local businesses with a gluten intolerance, I chose this local bakery for two $50 gluten-free cakes. I've been purchasing GF desserts from a variety of locations for years. Unfortunately, both cakes had poor texture and flavor. For $100, the cakes were also very small (about one inch tall and six inches wide).
