I cancelled before the appointment even happened. During TWO separate pre-appointment calls, I was repeatedly asked whether I was the homeowner and if there was ‘another homeowner’ who needed to be present, even after I explained that I was the owner. Translation: ‘Is there a man we should be talking to instead?’ It’s 2026. Women own homes, sign contracts, and make financial decisions without a husband standing nearby nodding approval.
