Although it lacks the cheeriness of Huettenbar, Carola's surprisingly boasts some good quality German bier.

I'm German and have been a Lincoln Square resident for the past 2 1/2 years. After checking out all the bars in my neighborhood earlyon in my residency here, I quickly realized that the Clipper was THE spot for me. It's a family owned place with three generations at the helm running the joint. I've historically had a lot in common with these fellow German folk. This place is great. Stop in and have a liter of BBK and stay for the laughs ..
Stumbled in after record shopping at Laurie's Planet of Sound. 5 hours later, stumbled out. Christine was our charming barmaid, and made us feel right at home. Patrons Jo-Jo and Gabriel kept us laughing and the jukebox pumping. Stellar time day-drinking.
