Honest opinion? I was nervous about costs, but Caribe’s no-pressure approach helped. We chose a simple pine casket and a graveside service at Green-Wood Cemetery. The director, Mr. Patel, personally checked on us during the rain—held umbrellas, handed out tissues. Felt like they actually cared, not just another transaction.

We lost my abuela suddenly, and I was overwhelmed. Ms. Rivera at Caribe sat with me for hours, helping plan a traditional Puerto Rican velorio. They got the right flowers, played her old salsa records, and even found a caterer for pasteles. The burial at Holy Cross felt peaceful. Don’t know how we’d have done it without them.

My dad was a retired firefighter, and Caribe gave him the send-off he deserved. They worked with FDNY Engine 230 to do a bell ceremony, and the flag presentation had me in tears. The team even set up a coffee station with his favorite Dunkin’ order—black with two sugars. Simple, respectful, and so Brooklyn. Thanks for treating him like family.

Mr. Patel, the director, came to check on us during the storm and gave us tissues and held umbrellas. They seemed to really care, not simply make a sale.
