⭐⭐ I have mixed feelings about my experience with Hanger Clinic on Little River Turnpike in Alexandria. I suffered a stroke in December, and I depend on an AFO for my left foot to be able to walk and maintain my independence. I originally received my custom AFO from Hanger on May 4, and at first it fit perfectly. I am extremely disappointed with the care I received. I’ve had an above-knee prosthetic for years, and despite countless appointments trying to get a proper fit, it feels like my concerns have never been taken seriously. Every adjustment seems to consist of minor tweaks with no real improvement. At my last appointment, they added a plate above the knee and shaved part of the socket. I had a frustrating experience with Hanger Clinic that highlights serious issues with their billing, communication, and business practices. While this could have been a simple snafu, the way it was handled left me feeling disappointed and uncomfortable. I had an appointment on November 10th to have custom shoe inserts made. On November 16th, Hanger informed me that after working with my insurance, my orthotics would cost $36, which I promptly paid online in full. I have called them numerous times to set up an appointment to get a replacement boot for my mom. They never answer the phone and don’t return calls when I left messages. I didn’t want to just show up with no appointment as it was a long drive to not know for sure if we would be seen! Not professional at all!
