Hand & Stone is one of the worst places I’ve ever worked, and I would never recommend them to anyone. The environment is unsanitary – laundry is rushed through in 12-minute cycles, which is not nearly enough to properly clean the sheets that get reused on clients. The owner is awful. After you’re hired, she completely disconnects from the business. She doesn’t check in, doesn’t communicate, and absolutely does nothing to support her staff. I booked a deep tissue massage at 2 pm, as requested I filled out the paperwork online and checked in at 1:45. Around 2:10 pm a therapist called me and said there had been a mistake and the person I was scheduled with took her client so she would massage me, I explained it was my first massage there so it was fine with me as long as she could do the deep tissue add on that I had purchased and she agreed. I had a terrible experience at Hand & Stone that completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing birthday treat. We came in just for a massage, nothing more, but Jennifer pushed us into signing up for a membership we clearly said we didn’t want. It felt incredibly forced, uncomfortable, and honestly manipulative.
