The place desperately needs refurbishing to replace the worn stained furniture, stuck warped doors, old AC units. Bathroom faucet is strangely designed with the tap directly below and in middle of basin. Housekeepers should be reminded to knock before entering and not barge in when guests are not decently dressed. The typical Hampton breakfast is absolutely depressing and out of sausages by 9 AM which they do not replenish. There's no free parking; valet only for $30 a night. A decent Hampton Inn with everything you would expect. Visiting from the UK we absolutely loved Wilmington and everyone made us feel very welcome, particularly the valet parking team and the front desk staff. Hotel is in an excellent location only a short walk to the river boardwalk which is beautiful and the historic old town with lots to do, and a short drive to the battleship North Carolina and also Wrightsville Beach which is definitely worth visiting. Stayed for a work trip. It’s a dated hotel in need of renovations. The AC unit was LOUD and rattled. There was nothing overtly wrong, could just use a makeover. The carpet was worn, the wallpaper was peeling, the shower has seen better days. The bathroom mirror light was half burnt out. The parking situation is challenging but there are options - to be expected in a downtown area. Three stars because, at the end of the day, it’s a hotel and I didn’t experience any “problems”, but there was nothing above average to speak of.
