This hotel cancelled our reservation that we had made with Ebookers in December on the day of arrival without informing us. Allegedly the credit card they had on file for Ebookers was declined. The manager should at least call us or Ebookers to straighten things out, but just cancelling on the day of arrival is very bad management, most likely it was cancelled because we had booked in December and had an excellent rate and because of the Stampede, they can charge much more now. My recent experience at Hampton Inn & Suites NW Calgary was the worst I’ve ever had at any hotel — and I’ve traveled extensively. I had a confirmed reservation through Expedia, clearly marked “Pay at Property.” However, upon arrival, I was shocked to be told by Jamie at the front desk that my reservation had been canceled by the hotel due to a “payment issue.” This was both confusing and frustrating because: 1. For a four star hotel, the sound proofing is horrible. Can hear every footstep from above. Other than that everything else was fine.
