I do not recommend this hotel! Our first room was freezing cold, heating/air conditioning unit was broken. Front desk said just push the red button up to 80 the room will warm up in 20-30 minutes. No red button on unit. He came up to help, discovered unit was broken. He moved us to another room which was just as cold but the unit did work and only took an hour to heat the room. If you have ANYWHERE ELSE you can stay in Carbondale, do it. The rooms at this Hampton Inn are dirty, outdated, and poorly maintained. The coffee urn display showed the coffee was more than 4 hours old at 7am, and when I asked if fresh coffee was on the way, the staff acted like I was inconveniencing them. I guess they had more eggs to microwave for the already disgusting breakfast assortment. Honestly, I wish I’d stayed at the Home2 instead. Truly disappointing — I’ll be choosing a different hotel next time.

Not what you’d expect from a Hilton property. Felt like a 1-2 star, dirty hotel with a Hampton name on the outside. They mentioned they were going through renovations and they were supposed to be done in 7 days but I didn’t see any signs of updates other than shipping containers in the parking lot. Cons: Very dirty common areas and carpeting. Unpleasant smell in the hallway and in our room/bathroom. Was going to stay here but no hottub. One of the best things about Hampton Inn is the hottub, now they've discontinued it in Edwardsville. Guess I'll go elsewhere.
