This is the perfect hotel to stay as if you were living there. Although it was a hotel, I felt like I was invited into a warm home. Check-in was smooth online. When I entered the room, the Pacific Ocean spread out before me in front of the window. The comfortable bed and the comfortable bathroom with a luxurious bathtub overlooking the Pacific Ocean blew away the fatigue of my long journey. We stayed 3 nights at the fabulous Hamakua Hotel to celebrate our 12 year anniversary. This stunningly beautiful property is located on the gorgeous Hamakua Coast of the Big Island of Hawai'i. It is located a short 20 minutes car ride from Hilo, or about 2 hours from Kona. The entrance to the hotel has a security code controlled gate for extra safety. I hightly recommend this stunning property. It's been beautifully renovated in the last few years. There are 8 rooms, and all of them have an incredible view. I never slept better. A salt water infinity pool, hot tub and lovely groomed trail down to the beach. I would stay here again and again.

Perfect for a relaxing vacation. Big, comfortable balcony with a lovely view. Only 8 rooms so nice and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made it feel like you were staying with friends at their house. I loved the dinners served family style with the other guests and the happy hour with mixed drinks.
