I hate I had to go here but this funeral service was great. All the staff was very respectful and showed that they really cared. It can't be an easy job seeing all the people that come through there suffering.

A Hall-Wynne first! Yes, we entered a float in the Bahama (Ba-HAY-Ma, unlike the chain of Caribbean islands), North Carolina (northern Durham Co.) annual Christmas Parade on a glorious, sunny/warm Saturday, amid some 150 + total floats and a record crowd lining the roads. The hard-working committee pulling this off was spearheaded by funeral director, Justin Boone, with capable assistance from Mike O’Connor, Nancy Sparrow, Gene Bobbitt, Sr., Lisa Wooten and Kay LaBarre. CHAPEL HILL: Sophia “Sophie” Pavlakis Livas, 96, died peacefully at UNC Memorial Hospital Saturday, December 13, 2014 after a brief illness. Born June 9, 1918 in Durham, she lived her early years in Chapel Hill and as a teenager moved with her parents to Thessaloniki, Greece, where she graduated from the American Girls College. In 1937, she married George Livas and returned to Chapel Hill where she and her husband raised two daughters, and where she spent the next 70 years of her life.
