My brother had a stroke and we wanted him to go to Brooks for rehab but was told that if we can't commit to taking him home after 14 days (the amount of days his insurance would pay for) he couldn't go there. I just found on their web site that they can be sent to another facility or stay longer with their financial assistance program. We are very disappointed in them. My brother is only 67 years old and has a lot of life to live and we wanted the best care for him. My biggest complaint is that they expect you to say you wil... read more

When you father has a major stroke, it's so hard to know the best place for him where he'll have the best chance to get better. I believe Brooks was the best place. Definitely they have some areas that need improvement, but the majority of the staff were excellent, especially the doctors, therapists, and administration. Their equipment and protocols are very good. Staffing is (as usual in health care), the biggest concern. They are desperately short on speech therapists. All the staff at Brooks has been amazing and helpful. Kim has been there for me since the beginning of my journey and without her I wouldn't have ended up on the correct path to recovery. I look forward to returning for full recovery after my procedures.
