Beautiful hotel, but be prepared to be woken up at 5:30 AM every morning if you’re staying near the west side of the hotel by the noise from the alley and garage downstairs and next-door. The cheap sound machine they put in your room doesn’t help mask it. Totally ruined the experience by night 3.
I stayed at the Halcyon Hotel Cherry Creek in Denver and while I must say the property itself is absolutely beautiful, clean, and very well maintained, unfortunately the level of service did not meet the standards of a five star hotel. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Housekeeping knocks on our door at 7:00 AM, clearly sees the Do Not Disturb sign, and instead of simply coming back later, they slip a passive-aggressive note saying they couldn’t clean the room because of the sign. That alone shows how broken their process is. It gets worse. I requested three towels so my kids could bathe. A basic, simple request. Do not use for any corporate meetings. Their contacts are totally inflexible.
Fantastic overnight experience. Friendly and supremely helpful staff, quiet rooms with roof access and a fire pit, plus an in-room record player. Complimentary drinks at Happy Hour in the beautiful downstairs bar, and evening cocktails overlooking the mountains at sunset from the rooftop bar. And remember to ask about the secret cocktail bar… Such a good stay - highly recommended.
