Absolutely recommend Matt and the Kauju-en Bonsai Nursery. Recently started looking at getting into the hobby, and Matt has been nothing short of exceptional the entire way, from helping me select the right Bonsai (a great little Trident Maple), to having it shipped straight to my door in secure packaging. He has even been kind enough with advice throughout the process. Will definitely be back for more.
Edit: heard back from Matt and we are working through it and trying to find a resolution. >>> Ordered a pot online. After waiting two weeks for the shipping confirmation I emailed him and got a 'whoops' didn't see your order reply. Ok fair enough I'II cut him some slack. He also mentioned he had covid and that he would get me the order asap. I wasn't too stressed out and understood that it would take a bit longer....5 weeks later the pot gets shipped out. I finally get the pot and it's the wrong one. This is incredibly frust... read more

Had no regrets coming to this place to refine my techniques in shaping bonsai trees. Having studied in Japan, Matt certainly stands out and it's clear when you see what he can do. Definitely the place to go if you're interested in shohin styled bonsai.
