Dr. Shakir is a standout. When my Mom was having recurrent strokes, he found the problem, devised a solution, and performed the procedure. He gave my mom back to us. He even came in on his day off to check on my mom and to say goodbye when she went home. My family and I are forever in his debt and cannot thank him enough. If I ever have to face this kind of issue, I want the ball to be in Dr. Shakir's hands.
This wonderful man and neurosurgeon automatically and forever is a 5-star physician in this family's book! My 21 year old daughter, who was born with a Dandy Walker Cyst and had a VP Shunt placed at 9months old, was starting to show signs of a first ever shunt failure. Awful Awful stay away, had a trigemenial nerve pressing n a blood vessel and totally ignored, pain got worse fro three years till I went to another neuro who did right reading for MRI and had MDV, terrible Dr and he should not be a dr, very bad and scary
We traveled to OKC from out of town to have Dr. Shakir help me with a difficult problem no one in my city was able to assist us in diagnosing or treating. We ended up arriving into the OU Hospital emergency room and immediately seen by doctors on his team. We met Dr. Shakir within 6 hours and the procedure began.
