I have lost count of how many visits I have made to Haight-Brown. The service is great and the wine, chocolate and cheese pairing class is not to be missed. It is a great stop on the CT Wine Trail.
The wine was ok but the service was terrible, I was expecting much more from what I thought was a classy vineyard. Instead, my adult friends and I were treated like a bunch of college kids at a bar. The staff was extremely rude and when it was closing time at 6 p.m. we were kicked out with a clap and an "ok, everybody out." At 6:07 we were told we were now "trespassing." Terrible service. Wines were not that great.
Very disappointed! Saw other people getting bigger pours, we got less than a sip to taste. Cheese was awesome, poor service, very impersonal.
Yet another great day at the vineyard. I came in today with my husband, my daughter and her husband and we each enjoyed a full house tasting and a cheese tasting. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable and so friendly. The wine was great. My favorite wine is the Picnic Red and I also enjoyed the Honey Nut Apple. The cheese was wonderfully prepared. It was a great way to spend my anniversary and I hope to come back soon. I highly recommend this gem of Litchfield!
I came in with 3 other people and we were just going to do 2 full house wine tastings the woman told us because we were only doing 2 tastings only 2 people can sit never in my years of visiting wineries have I ever been told that she was incredibly rude and I will never recommend anyone of my friends or family to go there. Usually when I go to vineyards I end up buying at LEAST a case of wine so they just lost a lot of business.
