In 1975, Bud Knott & Sons Instant Duplicating was a small printer that served local Elgin, Ill., businesses. When the owners decided to retire, they sold the business to Kern, Steve and Diane Hagg. In 1977, the company acquired a small letterpress shop, acquired a Heidelberg Windmill letterpress and changed its name to Rush Printing.
