Absolutely dreadful place, would give no stars if I could. I came here to see a trauma specialist after King's House could not accommodate my issues (through no fault of their own), and I was met with ignorance, judgement, and eventually a premature discharge from Hafod's services early in June after being told "there is no point in pursuing trauma therapy if you're going to university in September". A loud, cold, unfriendly environment that doesn't provide the necessary support to introduce the mentally ill to therapy. Crowded, unprepared, rushed atmosphere. One broken toilet. They had no information about my condition and mental state, which they were apparently sent by mail. The rooms may as well have not had doors as you could hear everything people were saying in the next room, which made it difficult to speak comfortably about sensitive things. Asked for help repeatedly over numerous years to have the response ‘what do you want us to do’ which to me defeats the whole object of asking for help. Hung up on mid conversation when at crisis point by so called professionals. It’s all a box ticking exercise and I find if anything over the years, this place has probably made my mental health decline even more. Of all the people I’ve come across in my time who have used the service and asked for their help, not one has a positive thing to say about it.

The laughingstock of Rhyl never heard anyone say anything even remotely good about this place or any of the staff who work within it. Dr Porter comes to ridiculous conclusions which are in direct contrast with the medication he prescribes after only seeing in person once and two telephone calls then admits his opinions may not be accurate “as I’ve only spoke to you three times”. I have a rule not to trust overweight/obese doctors and nurses anyway as if they can’t manage their own clear physical health how on earth are they ... read more
