It was somewhat of a long and difficult process but Richard saved my sister's inheritance from my father by getting it into a special needs trust. She had a stroke at age 50 and will never fully recover; never be able to work again or even live alone. It wasn't a huge amt of money after taxes but since her only income is SS disability, it helps her get necessary things like dental work that she couldn't otherwise afford.
