I was so excited to build my second custom home. My first was with a Haubstadt builder years ago. We loved our home but it was time to downsize with my kiddo off to college. This was not the same experience. The quality was definitely not what I expected from a custom built home. The concrete was poured by a non-licensed contractor that all has to be replaced, including the slab my home is on (her brother poured it). I could not get simple warranty fixes or any communication.
