On 14 May 2015, Dr. Alexander gave the diagnosis of a Stage IB tumor in the head of my pancreas. On 2 June 2015 he and his team preformed a pylorus preserving Whipple. He was professional, informative, and engaging. Today I got the news that I am still clear of cancer related disease and no long need an annual follow up.
My husband received life saving surgery in June of '23 due to stomach cancer. Unfortunately, and mainly due in part to the type of cancer he had, it spread. As he slowly deteriorated, he was unable to eat, thus requiring tpn which is food by vein. During this time when he was still strong we were working to get into a clinical trial at columbia university that addressed his specific cancer (diffuse) He developed sepsis because he was given his tpn in the same port as his chemo.
