Performed a colonoscopy and said come back in 2 years. My husband died of stage 4 colon cancer 3 months later.
Dr. Winzenried and his staff were extremely attentive and arranged for my pre-colonoscopy evaluation very quickly following a positive Cologuard screening. The doctor was attentive, thourgh and reassuring. His nurse was readily available to answer questions by return phone call. The surgical center where the colonoscopy was performed was first-rate with a caring, efficient professional staff.

When I learned my G.I. doctor was retiring I was very sad. He has helped me and my husband get through many tough times in our health. I had to see Dr. Winzinread for my colonoscopy because of this. Never again! I did not like his attitude, I did not like how he spoke about my issues in the past. I overheard him speaking with someone in recovery about another doctor. I thought it was very unprofessional, and he was very dismissive with me during recovery.

At the advice of an Ohio upper GI doctor who performed an endoscopy which showed some problems, I was to see a specialist in Naples. I went to Winzenreid who reviewed the Ohio doctors report and he hit the ceiling saying there were no specifics on my dysphasia and he would do a stent or other means to treat my shrinking esophagus. He ordered a barium swallow which I went to. From there, he did not call to review the results, nor did his nurse. Then he sent me a letter, no letterhead, telling me he woiuld no longer treat me b... read more
I have PBC, a somewhat rare liver disease, along with a couple of other gastrointestinal issues. Since I began seeing Dr. Winzenried several years ago I have placed complete confidence in him to monitor the PBC and treat other issues. He has earned my respect for his knowledge of my disease and my care in general. I like him personally and find his staff to be top notch. My highest compliment would be that he and his staff seem to care about their patients' health in the gastro field.
Amazingly positive experience. I put total trust in Dr. Winzenried's care. He is a straight forward honest communicator which I respect and appreciate. I am grateful to be under his care.
