Installed gutter mesh because I thought I'd never have to clean my gutters again. Turns out it doesn't stop nature—it just gives the moss a luxury penthouse to live in. When it's finally time to clean, you get the privilege of removing and reinstalling the mesh, which seems to take about 100 times longer than just cleaning the gutters in the first place. So instead of cleaning leaves, I'm now managing a rooftop moss farm with extra steps. The birds love it. My ladder and my patience do not.
We arranged three quotes for our gutters, which were on two levels around our new home. The first company rep spent most of his time telling us about their big corporate jobs, not our house issues. He even said we had to remove our solar panels for the job!! The second company rep got out of the car, spent 2 minutes looking at the job from the street, and then refused to give us a quote!
