My family and I came to New Orleans for our first cruise and when looking for places to eat we stumbled upon Gus’s. I cannot express how AMAZING the fried chicken here was. The skin was so crispy, the meat juicy, and the flavor was phenomenal. The absolute best part of our experience was our server, Polo. He was fast, great at communicating when he would be back to the table, and always made sure we had what we needed. Jam packed, servers hopping, but still with a smile and a laugh. The chicken is AMAZING! Marinated in buttermilk then into the fryer when you order. No frozen bird, ever. Prices are great! We got the special: two pieces of chicken, coleslaw and beans for $12 with free refills on soda. You cant get a crappy fast food meal for that, and I had a doggie bag to go. Don't miss it.
