The MUST First Stop before Travel Wonderful Shop with a Very helpful owner. If you are going on a trip you must stop here! She knows her material, and is very well informed. She is pleasant and the shop has the best Travel Guides and Map selection I have ever seen. They also sell Tilly Hats (Hard to Find) also a great selection of Travel Books.

Just getting here is an adventure! This isn't an easy place to find. The entrance is from the alley and the store is in the basement, but this is a GREAT specialty bookstore. They have a wide variety of New England guidebooks, as expected, which was what I wanted. However, they also have every other country you could ever think of. Well, at least that I could think of! Expect to be hounded by the owner I have shopped here before. It is best to go when there are several other customers. The owner will follow you around; tell you what you should by, etc. To make matters worse the owner went on and on about their personal travels. I got the impression that the store was a hobby for the owner and a serious shopper is not welcome. The shopping experience was enough to drive me right out the door. Never again!

Gulliver's Travel Books Maps This is one of the best stores I've ever encountered. The owner, Allison, is very helpful and her selection of travel goods is great. My wife and I manage to make it a stop whenever we are in Portsmouth so that we can enjoy the chat and find excellent items with which to travel.
