I saw this therapist as a minor, and my experience was extremely negative, and my family agrees, which is why I am here, after so many years, to warn anyone considering Karen Guidry as a therapist. I our conversations were supposed to be confidential, but she repeatedly shared what I said with my parents without clearly explaining why or getting my consent- and not having any legal ground to stand on to disclose some of these things, which is breaking HIPPA. Karen was my therapist for about a year. She was by far the worst I've ever had. She broke HIPPA on multiple occasions. made my issues worse and massively negatively affected my development. Whoever gave her her credentials is unqualified to do so, and she should've never gotten her license. It is insane that she is still in business. Awful.
I don’t understand the negative reviews. Maybe from people who don’t want help but instead be told what they want to hear? I feel she is very knowledgeable about how to navigate the conversation and get to the root of issues. She listened very well and made me feel heard. Would definitely recommend for trauma and family issues.
Great experience
After going to her for a dozen or so sessions , I called her for some quick advice on my situation and found out real quick how all of this is about her/ therapist pay checks and not helping you when you're in dire need! I didn't have time to schedule another session, I was meeting with the person the following mornings!
