Thishas become a nightmare for my husband and I. All because Dr. Laporta is no longer the 'legend ' he once was. I have gone through three additional surgeries and a significant amount of physical therapy, many doctors over the last two and one half years and I have still not gotten back to where I was before the first surgery. Was referred to him had 2 visits the 2nd was for surgery set up, was supposed to be Oct 14th they called me on the monday before and said he wanted to wait till my medical issue subsided . Ummm they will never and as a dr you should have known that before sending me for all my pre op tests. Then wanted to charge me for my medical records and extra for the disc I brought to him. Please don't go to him
External fixation seems to always be his answer and it leaves you worse than when you started. I would not suggest him or his horrible office staff to my worst enemy.
I am a 56 year old male who was referred to LaPorta's office way back in 2009. I had suffered a tib/fib break 30 years prior to that but the bones had healed incorrectly. I was training for Marathons at the time and he promised me that with this "new" technique (employing an external fixator after performing an osteotomy on my tib/fb,) I would be running again in 6 months.
