I birthed my very first baby in August 2025 at Growing Family. I felt very well taken care of throughout the duration of my prenatal care. I think one of the best parts was feeling like every decision was mine to make and Debbie was always highly informative. I was also seen by the nurse midwife, Mary, who did extensive research to help me get through a UTI in the beginning of my pregnancy. I gave birth at Growing Family Birth Center, and the experience was so supportive that I now work here. As a first-time mom, my birth didn’t go exactly as planned — my baby got stuck in the birth canal, and it was one of the hardest moments of my life. I can’t recommend delivering here as a first time mom. I have heard good things for second and third babies but many elements of my experience before, during, and after birth were unsafe. Unfortunately the other growing families first time moms I have talked to have shared similar concerns of negligence/safety that put both the mother and baby in danger and helped me realize that my case was not just an anomaly. My little one decided to come out backwards and my plans for having my baby in the birth center went out the window! but i was fourtunatly given the option to have a homebirth, and with the amazingly competent team of midwives Maggie, Debbie and Liz I felt secure in my choice to have a breach birth at home.
