I was so surprised when this particular chain came into Palo Alto since so many people in PA tend to protest what they consider "discount" stores because they feel it's out of touch with the Palo Alto "brand." We have lots of students with Stanford University and elderly people on fixed incomes; a store like this is very helpful to their budgets. Mostly useful for unusual foods that would otherwise be too expensive to be consider. Unpredictable supply makes it hard to rely on grocery outlet for anything. Not everything is a deal.
